Privacy Policy
Draft. This policy has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Items in [brackets] still need to be filled in.
This policy explains what information Combat Nerds LLC (“Combat Nerds”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the Combat Nerds website and app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Using Combat Nerds without an account
You can explore the position map and lessons without signing in. We don’t ask for any personal information to do that, and we don’t use analytics or advertising trackers.
Information we collect
- Account details from your sign-in provider. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address, plus your profile picture if the provider shares it.
- Your profile. Your display name, belt, friend code and account role.
- Training activity. Sessions you log (date, type, position, minutes, rounds and notes), your progress on each position, experience points, streaks and badges.
- Friends and teams. Who you have connected with, and the teams you create or join.
- Feedback. Tickets, comments, votes and screenshots you submit to the feedback board, and a history of changes to them.
- Technical information. Cookies that keep you signed in, and standard server logs kept by our hosting providers, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of each request.
How we use it
- To sign you in and run the features you use, such as progress tracking, badges, leaderboards, friends, teams and the feedback board.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand what to build next, mainly from the feedback you send us.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see your information
- Friends and teammates can see your display name, belt and training stats, such as experience points and streaks on leaderboards.
- Other signed-in users can see the feedback tickets, comments and screenshots you post on the feedback board, along with your display name.
- Moderators and administrators can see account and feedback information to run the Service.
- Service providers process information for us: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (website hosting), and Google (sign-in). They may only use it to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons. We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users or Combat Nerds.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, training activity, friends and team memberships. Feedback you posted may stay on the board without your name so that other users’ discussions still make sense. Server logs are kept for a short time by our hosting providers.
Your choices and rights
You can update your display name and belt in the app. You can ask us to send you a copy of your information, correct it or delete your account by emailing [contact email]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we will honor them.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and database access rules limit who can read each record. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries.
Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the Service before it takes effect.
