Terms of Use

1. Agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Combat Nerds LLC (“Combat Nerds”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Combat Nerds website and app, including the position map, training lab, progress tracking, friends and teams, and the feedback board (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
2. Training safety
The Service teaches grappling techniques, including leg locks, heel hooks and other submissions that can cause serious injury to knees, ankles and other joints when applied quickly or with too much force. By using the Service you understand and accept that:
- The content is for education only. It is not a substitute for instruction from a qualified coach.
- You should only practice techniques with a willing, informed training partner, under qualified supervision, and within the rules of your gym and competition ruleset.
- Legality notes such as belt levels and rulesets are a guide only. Rules change, so check the current rules of any event you enter.
- You train at your own risk. Combat Nerds is not responsible for injuries that happen while practicing anything shown in the Service.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and if you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian’s permission. You sign in through Google. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in account secure. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account.
4. Your content
“Your content” means things you add to the Service, such as training logs, notes, your display name, team names, feedback tickets, comments, votes and screenshots. You keep ownership of your content. You give Combat Nerds a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and process your content only as needed to run and improve the Service. That includes showing it to the people it is meant for, such as your friends and teammates on leaderboards, or other signed-in users on the feedback board.
Only post content you have the right to share. Don’t include other people’s personal information in screenshots or feedback without their permission.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post hateful, sexual or illegal content.
- Post spam or advertising, or manipulate votes, leaderboards or experience points.
- Access accounts or data that aren’t yours, or probe, scan or disrupt the Service or its security.
- Scrape, copy or resell the Service or its content without our written permission.
Moderators and administrators may edit, hide or remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms.
6. Our content
The Service’s software, design, position map, lessons and other material we provide belong to Combat Nerds LLC or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal training. You may not copy, republish or sell them without our written permission. Some lessons link to videos hosted by third parties, which are governed by those sites’ own terms.
7. Price
The Service is free during early access. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price and terms before you are charged, and you will not be charged without agreeing.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 2, 4, 6 and 9 to 12 continue to apply after your access ends.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind, including that the Service will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Combat Nerds LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss of data or loss of profits arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover Combat Nerds LLC for claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your content or from your breaking these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [state], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in [county, state].
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the Service before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
